Accidently heard a HAM Radio conversation while tuning a radio. | |
1994

Joined Adoor Amateur Radio Club, where i received training in Morse code, rules and regulations, etc. Thanks to OM Sharmaji, VU2LV, for his dedication and help. | |
1995

Appeared for the ASOC exam at Adoor. After a couple of months i received a letter from the local monitoring station - cleared the exam. | |
1997
: |
Received the licence, issued by the Ministry of communications , WPC, Govt. of India, with callsign VU3KBU (licence number 9135). The same year i homebrewed my first QRP Tx. Thanks to VU2VWN, OM Vasanth Kumar (SK), for his popular design (VWN AM QRP). | |

Improved the power output to 25W PEP with a homebrewed linear amplifier using the IRF 830 MOSFET. Made contacts with countries like Srilanka , Maldives, Seychelles, Nepal, Malaysia, Thailand etc. The most exciting one was a contact with 5X1M from Uganda. | |

Homebrewed a Tx which worked on double side band (DSB), using diode ring balanced modulator. | |

Homebrewed a 40m Single Side Band (SSB) Transmitter.It was based on RM 96 | |
